Maintenance of Payment Information — In order to place a bid on an auction lot in CTBids.com, an online auction platform operated by Caring Transitions (CT), you must have valid payment information stored in your profile. By providing your credit/debit card information in CTBids.com, you irrevocably authorize CT to charge your primary (default) payment method on file for the total purchase amount of any winning bid plus any fees associated with the sale of the auction lot(s), including but not limited to buyers premium and taxes. You also agree and acknowledge that you will maintain valid payment information within your user profile so long as you maintain an account in CTBids.com and that you are authorized to use the designated payment method. CT reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to cancel bids or suspend bidding privileges of any user not maintaining valid payment information. If your payment method fails or your account is past due, CT may collect amounts owed by charging other payment methods on file with CTBids.com, and/or retain collection agencies and legal counsel. In addition, you may be subject to late fees and interest at CT discretion which will not exceed the maximum amount permitted by applicable law.
Bidding on each auction lot starts at $1.00. Placing a bid on CTBids.com is an agreement to purchase. At the time you place a bid in CTBIds.com you will be required to initially identify how you want to receive the auction lot. However, when the auction closes, you will have an opportunity to make a final decision on how you want to receive your auction lot. You will receive an email and text from ShippingSaint.com requesting you select how to receive your winning lots. If you select “Pick Up”, you are committed to picking up all contents of your auction lot(s) at the selected pickup date/time. If you are the winning bidder of an auction lot and if you select “Shipping”, you are committed to pay for the separate shipping/delivery invoice before the auction lot is shipped/delivered. Please DO NOT bid if you do not plan to purchase. Abid is a commitment to purchase the auction lot if you are the winning bidder.
If you bid, you MUST be available or arrange for the pickup of all the contents of your winning auction lot(s) on the scheduled pickup date, unless shipping/delivery arrangements were previously agreed to by CT. If you do not pick up your item CT may charge a $50 disposal fee and/or revoke your right to bid on CTBids.com auctions. However, if you communicate with us that you have an emergency and you need SMALL items brought back from the pickup to our warehouse or need an alternative pick up scheduled and CT agrees, CT will require a $35 late/alternative pick up fee.
Bring the necessary tools and help for picking up large auction lot(s). Loading assistance is NOT available. Assume that some auction lot(s) may be located on a upper floors, basement or out-building. PLEASE bring help yourself and do NOT ask other buyers to help you lift heavy items. Please bring boxes, wrap and materials to transport the auction lot(s) which are NOT boxed for transport.
Receipts are emailed to the winning Bidders once the specific auction sale has completely closed and payment is secured. All invoices under five thousand dollars ($5,000) will be auto charged for the total amount to the primary card on file in your CTBids.com user profile. Purchases over five thousand dollars ($5,000) will require an auto charge of 10% of total amount. CT will communicate with you regarding payment of the remaining amount. Total amount must be paid in full before receiving a receipt for auction lot(s) won. If total payment is not received by CT within 16 hours of specific auction sale closing time, CT reserves the right to resell your winning auction lot(s) to the next highest bidder or dispose of the winning auction lot(s) at CT discretion. Additionally, CT will initiate suspension of your account and bidding privileges from the CTBids.com system. Reinstatement after suspension requires payment of the total original invoice amount plus a $25 fee.
Shipping is only available for auction lots marked as “shippable”. Additionally, CT reserves the right to NOT ship an auction lot that does not reach a final sale price of more than $20. Shipping is at Buyer’s expense.
Winners of high value auction lot(s) that request shipping maybe be requested to provide a government issued ID that matches the delivery address in the invoice. In some cases, payment with Zelle or certified cashier’s check may be requested. Additionally, an up to 2-week delay in shipping may be imposed to ensure payment clears. Shipping will be insured and require a signature receipt. You hereby expressly grant CT the right to hold a winning auction lot(s) until confirmation of cleared funds has been received by CT. Winning bidders with questions on payment should reference the Knowledge Base or email CT at RockvilleAuction@CaringTransitions.com
Once the specific auction closes and payments are secured, the winning bidders will receive an email and text from ShippingSaint.com requesting winning bidders select how they want to receive their auction lot(s).
If you selected “Pickup” you will be presented with an opportunity to select a date and time slot for pick up. If you elect pickup and do not pick up the auction lot(s) during the selected date/time slot pickup period, CT will consider the auction lot abandoned and will dispose of the item at their discretion and no refund will be provided. Alternate pickup days and times must be requested by the winning bidder and if approved by CT, can be available for a fee starting at $35.
If you selected “Shipping”, your auction lot will be moved to the CT shipping area for preparation, and you will receive an email and text from ShippingSaint.com with a separate invoice for shipping, handling and materials when the auction lot(s) are ready for delivery/shipping. The shipping, handling and materials or delivery must be paid before auction lot(s) is shipped/delivered. If you do not pay the additional invoice for shipping, handling and materials, CT will consider you winning lot(s) abandoned and CT will dispose at their discretion and no refund for the original winning lot(s) will be provided
Shipping is at Buyer’s expense and for auction lots that are marked “Shippable”. CT typically selects the most economic shipping carrier. In addition to shipping carrier charges, there is a minimum handling/packaging charge of $10 per lot to cover labor and a charge for materials. Auction lots requiring more than 10 minutes to package and handle will be charged at a $1 per minute basis. CT automatically acquires $100 insurance or the value of the auction lot(s) whichever is highest. A separate invoice will be provided to the buyer for shipping, handling and materials. The invoice is typically generated within 3 to 7 days after pick up date. Occasionally, depending on the size of the sale and amount of shipping, it may be a few more days after pickup before you receive your shipping invoice. Not all auction lot(s) can be shipped. Additionally, if payment for the shipping and handling invoice is not received after 3 days of issuing the separate invoice, the auction lot(s) will be forfeited, and bidding privileges may be revoked. Disposal of auction lot(s) is performed at the discretion of CT and no refund will be made. If you require shipping on an auction lot(s) that is indicated as not shippable, please send an email before bidding to ShippingDC@CaringTransitions.com to inquire and discuss shipping options. While most of the shipping process in handled in house, very FRAGILE or challenging lots might be taken directly to a local UPS location where UPS packages and ships the auction lots. UPS packing and supplies tends to be expensive so plan accordingly when bidding. Shipping larger and/or fragile lots can be expensive.
Buyer's Premium % for each auction lot will be stated within the auction lot and will be added to the final bid amount when invoiced.
MD State Sales Tax % will be added to the final bid amount when invoiced.
CT has made every effort to describe auction lot(s) as accurately as possible. Expect normal signs of wear associated with antiques, vintage, and used items in the auction lot(s). CT does not list every flaw. All items in auction lot(s) are sold AS IS, and WHERE IS. No refunds or returns. CT does not guarantee the working order of any clock, watch, electronic or mechanical device. Dimensions given may be approximate. Please rely on the auction lot(s) photographs when deciding to bid.
Listings times have a soft close. Extra time may be added to ending times to allow bidders more time to win. This will give you time to receive an outbid notification and place a higher bid and mimics what happens in a live auction where the auctioneer asks for “any last bids” before making the sale.
Any auction lot(s) which are stored at a CT facility and not picked up within 30 days are considered forfeited and will be disposed at the discretion of CT and no refund provided.

If you are the winning bidder of an auction lot and if you select “Shipping”, you are committed to pay for the separate shipping/delivery invoice before the auction lot is shipped/delivered. The invoice is typically generated within 3 to 7 days after pick up date.
