Real Estate Contact: Tarissa, 817-808-7711 Property: 1.83 acres Home: 4854 square feet Asking Price: $2,200,000
Since 1899, this home was known as the Kincaid Mansion, and was relocated from its original home in Bonham, Texas to its present location in Colleyville in 1985. The original lumber receipts hang in the foyer of this historic home, paying homage to the Kincaid family’s dedication to quality. The Kincaid family of Bonham had close ties to former House Speaker Sam Rayburn and entertained often with the home serving as a brilliant showplace. Ms. Vandergriff decided to buy a Victorian era home after touring local homes in Waxahachie. When the Kincaid Mansion, with its stick and ball trim detail, was discovered in Bonham, Ms. Vandergriff knew that she had found her forever home and undertook the task of moving the home to Colleyville, piece by piece. The home was then painstakingly restored by Ms. Vandergriff and re-christened as Heritage Hill. She meticulously maintained the home’s original splendor and stayed true to the period with her renovation. The home is a three story, 4,854 square foot house (not counting the attic). The home has a round turret, six gables, 12‘ ceilings, five bedrooms, three bathrooms, parlor, butler’s pantry and multiple antique stained glass windows throughout. One window in particular, located on the east side of the stairwell, was approximately 100 years old when the Kincaid family installed it in their new house. Ms. Vandergriff was intent on staying true to the history of the home. With a few modern conveniences added, the house is in much of its original condition. Upon completion of the renovation, Ms. Vandergriff set about the task of furnishing her home with period antiques. All of the home’s antiques and furnishings will be for sale. They include not only the following pieces, but will also include many more: -Victorian era parlor furniture -Victorian Half Tester canopy bed -Antique Ansonia Shakespeare figural mantle clock -Pair of French hand painted porcelain vases -Pair of vintage Capodimonte lamps -Vintage barrister bookcases -Antique quarter sawn oak parlor table with claw ball feet -Pair of antique carved mahogany wood armchairs -Multiple vintage Art Nouveau brass peacock fireplace screens -Antique French marquetry armoire -Vintage green slag glass lamps with lily pad bases -Victorian era hall mirror The home also served as a backdrop for a Reba McEntire music video in 1987, as well as several magazine photo shoots. Heritage Hill is like visiting a museum. We invite you to come see the home and honor the legacy of the longtime Colleyville resident Ms. Joan Vandergriff. |
