Elaine Hahn, from Kansas City, Missouri, holds a BA and MA in Art from the University of Missouri. She studied with noted artists in the U.S., England, and Mexico. Her experience at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City influenced her early career. Her paintings are now prominent. They have won awards in major national juried exhibitions. Private and corporate collections throughout the United States include her works. She taught and conducted workshops in the U.S. and Europe. She also judged local, regional, and national art shows. She has a signature membership in these groups: Oil Painters of America, American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, and Miniature Artists of America. American Women Artists, American Society of Marine Artists, International Guild of Realism, Art Renewal Center Living Artist.

She gained a national reputation for her watercolors. She worked in both watercolor and oils, adding a new dimension to her work. She created these works in her studio in the Gulf of Mexico in Florida. There, she developed and expanded her painting techniques. She aimed to capture the area's beautiful coastal and marine subjects.
