Metro North is auctioning Four (4) Ballast Cars (Hoppers). These are retired from service and require repair. Units are reported to have rust and cracks. Buyer is responsible to inspect before bidding to validate condition.
Ballast cars; MNCW 1322 Build date on record 4/1/1961 MNCW 1327 Build date March 3/1/1961 MNCW1329 Build date on record 6/13/1963 MNCW1303 No build date on record but estimated 1961, and rebuilt in 1977
There is some ballast left in each car and it will NOT be removed.
Transportation is the buyer's responsibility and must be moved by rail. Units are located on Croton East adjacent to CSX tracks/yard. Units have a class one brake inspection and are all in date.
The units are sold "AS IS WHERE IS", and Metro North offers no guarantee or warranty.
Forty-Eight (48) hours notice is required to removal.
Payment is required in FIVE (5) calendar days after final approval. Removal must be done in THIRTY (30) days. The material will be considered abandoned after SIXTY (60) days.
These can NOT be scrapped or dismantled on property.
