This lovely French Family has entrusted Fred Stegmann and Laguna Beach Estate Sales to find homes for the unique treasures they are not taking back to France with them....Due to privacy reasons we cannot disclose much about this prominent family except that they were personal friends with Marcel Marceau (the famous mime and comedian) and André Courrèges (famous French designer known for his futuristic and modern designs 60's 70's 80's,) as well as Mstislav Rostropovich (world renowned cellist and conductor.)

Suffice it to say, this very cultured, well known,  important  family had taste....quel shock!

We are offering for sale a selection of unusual, eclectic items...from a spectacular  farmhouse French table, to 19th C oversized gold frames, gold gilt sconces, faience in blue and white and other colors, oversized french baskets and trunks (perfect for linens, storage, and serving or just to look at!) Many highly unusual pieces of furniture  ranging from a large high back settee with oversized nailhead trim, pairs/sets of Turn of the Century and 19th C Chairs, a painted whitewashed Louis XV style bergère/arm chair and ottoman, MCM sofa, a child's iron bed, a lovely Thonet rocking crib (great for displaying a doll collection.) We also are offering for sale 1970's inlaid tables,  pair of wood side tables (great size,) set of four delicate Louis XIV style petit point covered French Chairs (one needs repair,) faux painted marbleized ceramic lamps, a MCM collage, an oil on canvas of Venice, The Grand Canal (some restoration needed) by Charles-Clement Calderon, assorted 19th C engravings, some unusual modern art, water colors and other media.

Assorted Glasses and Ceramics by Juliska, Le Creuset and others, some antique pewter, copper and brass, a large antique painted decoy.....some linens, a selection of women's designer clothing  including Courrèges as well as some well loved women's shoes. Two women's furs by a prominent French house, some perfume, hundreds of books (many novels French) as well as coffee table books on travel, garden, house and design, cooking....the good news is, you still have plenty of time to brush up on your French before heading over later this summer to Paris for the Olympics...bonne chance tout le  monde!

Garage cupboards filled what regular useful stuff, some tools, garden pots, luggage, as well as other fun, useful garage and home stuff you can always use...

We obviously have not listed everything for sale and there is so much more to discover. It is a very fun sale filled with unusual items in a pretty home with a spectacular view...what could be better?!
