Featuring Barbizon School, French landscape painters, to a bird's-eye view of the Colosseum in Rome by Giovanni Battista Piranesi, a watercolor of MIT rowers with geese by Irena Roman.

19th century portrait of a woman with long red hair, Italian School. The sitter as well as her pose is reminiscent of Titian's painting of "Flora". Oil on canvas, initialed l.r. "C G". Bearing a label from the early 20th century French gallery Adolphe Le Goupy or Legouoy.

A 19th century painting by the French Barbizon artist Etienne Maxime Vallee (1853-1881) Peasant Woman by a Pond. He renders here the leaves in an incredible way, with certain parts of the painting nearly jumping out at you to push aside as you peer at the kneeling woman, the broken fence and the towering building in the background.

The Farm Yard, a flock of chickens with an effective light and shadow treatment, is a delicately toned snapshot of the accomplished animal painter, Alexandre Defaux (French, 1820-1900).

Landscape with Windmill by Jean Baptiste Antoine Guillemet (French, 1843-1918).

A moody seascape with boat attributed to the French Barbizon artist Jules Dupre. Initialed l.r.

The character continues with:

Bird's-Eye View of the Colosseum in Rome by Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-1778). Piranesi's thorough familiarity with the Colosseum—he had already produced three views of this most famous of Roman ruins—and his skill at perspective rendering allowed him to produce this magnificent view of the ancient amphitheater seen as if from the air. By allowing the monument to fill the entire sheet of paper and by placing tiny figures in the center of the image, Piranesi effectively conveys the vastness of the ruin, while the bird's-eye view reveals the plan and exposes the structure.

Cleopatra Throwing Herself at The Feet of Augustus after Angelica Kauffman (1741-1807). Stipple and etching printed in sepia by Thomas Burke (Irish, 1749-1815).

Vincent's Groves, St. Remy by R. Friswell, 1997. "Vincent's Groves" refers to the artist Vincent Van Gogh who spent his one year as a patient in the asylum in St. Remy and where he painted some of his most famous and recognized works. The thick impasto and color palette used by the artist in this works seems to refer to works by Vincent including "Mountains at St. Remy with Cottage" or even "The Starry Night."

Abiquiu Cliffs, New Mexico by Steven Boone (born 1952). A loosely rendered landscape composition dominated by the magnificent Abiquiu Cliffs in New Mexico. Abiquiu is where the American artist Georgia O'Keeffe made her home and where she painted some of her most famous works.
Land of Hope, Hand Colored Etching, by Amram Ebgi (born 1939)

Alvar Sunol Munoz-Ramos, a contemporary Spanish artist, known as Alvar. This work is from one of five that makes up the artist's series "Suite Biblique"

High quality furnishings ready to be passed from generation to generation.

Featuring:

Karges French Louis XVI style sideboard features a figural burled walnut with fancy brass hardware.

A collection of Baker Furniture featuring a Historic Charleston Collection Mahogany banded edge double pedestal dining table and chairs

Traditional Rolled Arm Three Seat Sofa Couch by Edward Ferrell

Alfonso Marina Regency Style Marble Top Low Boy
