We are offering the collection of Milton B. Sydney, a beloved lifelong pillar of the Wellsburg community, and devoted caretaker to his mother and brother after his father passed away while Milton was in high school.  He was hired as a bookkeeper and accountant at Ingersoll Rand as well as Schuler Lumber Company.  He was elected Chemung County treasurer and town of Ashland treasurer.  His passion was baseball, playing as a young boy and eventually coaching Little League etc. for over 45 years. Wellsburg Little League Field was named in his honor. His dedication to the children of the community was overwhelming. His kindness, generosity, commitment and loyalty to Wellsburg was so appreciated, that the town celebrated Milton Sydney day on June 6, 1982 with a parade and granite monument dedicated to him.  Milton was also a lifelong volunteer firefighter, whose passions and hobbies included fishing, Civil War history, and of course baseball.  We are honored to handle his life long treasures and possessions, that made Milton smile, and hopefully pass along some of his spirit, contributions and endearing love of the Wellsburg community, with the selling of his vast collection.  His certainly was a life well lived.
