South Scotland Elementary
Pursuant to G.S. 115C-518 and 160A-269, the Scotland County Board of Education hereby gives notice that it has received an offer to purchase the real property located at 17200 Barnes Bridge Rd, Laurinburg, NC, commonly known as the campus of South Scotland Elementary School. South Scotland Elementary School has 41, 298 sq ft main building, with one exterior mobile classroom and three (3) small storage buildings on 15.6 acres of land. Inspections are scheduled as needed, through the office of Michael Chapman, Executive Director of Operations, Scotland County Schools. The property is being sold "AS IS" with no representation from the Scotland County Schools regarding acreage or condition of the property. The offer to purchase is in the amount of $101,000. The offer includes the deed preparation, revenue stamps and all closing costs. Notice is given that prior to November 28, 2022, any person may raise the bid by not less than ten percent (10%) of the first one thousand dollars ($1,000) and five percent (5%) of the remainder. Therefore, the lowest acceptable upset bid is $106,100. The individual submitting the upset bids will need to agree to pay for the cost of preparation of the deed and any closing costs. When the bid is raised, the bidder shall deposit five percent (5%) of the total bid in cash or certified funds with Scotland County Schools. The Scotland County Schools shall readvertise the offer at the increased bid. This procedure shall be repeated until no further qualifying upset bids are received, at which time the Board may accept the offer and sell the property to the highest bidder. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all offers at any time. ***Price listed is the current bid and is subject to change.
