Loogootee High School students from the business, fine arts, and construction pathways collaborated to change a shipping container into a tiny home. Business students marketed to local individuals and industry to raise funds to convert the structure, managed the budget, ordered needed items, and worked with the construction and art crews on completion deadlines. Art students created the floor plan, interior and exterior designs, and staged the tiny home after construction. The construction students put forth the manpower to transform the interior and exterior of the structure.

The tiny home measures 8' by 20' & is 11' 3" tall to the peak. It has a small kitchen, equipped with a sink, refrigerator, and stove. The bathroom is tiny but it has a toilet, walk-in shower, light, storage space, and ventilation. The interior walls are adorned with wood paneling, white baseboards, and a white ceiling. The living area has a ceiling fan with a light for air movement and a cubby hole for storage. The home also contains 3 windows and an exterior light.

It was created using an 8 x 20' shipping container. It stands 11'3" tall, It is wired for 240 volts with a 100 amp disconnect on the outside. Good for on or off the grid. No central heat or A/C but a small baseboard heater and a window A/C and you're ready to go. Well insulated with a steel roof. Premium exterior siding LP Smartside with 30 year factory finish applied by K-Line Manufacturing of Loogootee.

The home will need to be installed above a foundation to allow for water to enter the home and access to plumbing. The home does not include heating or cooling elements, but they can be purchased inexpensively and attached to electrical outlets within the home.

The purchaser must agree to release the school and school corporation of any liability in the transportation, setup, or anytime after possession of the home.

The purchaser must also pay for the movement of the home to its final destination. The school has made contact with several individuals that can transport the home for a low cost.
