Listing Information

This Auction Features both Framed and Unframed Prints by Minnesota Artist Jerry Raedeke. This collection is being sold by a friend of the artist, and all the prints are numbered 14, making it a unique and interesting collection. Most of these prints are marked AP - this means that the artist physically reviews every 10th print that comes off the printer to make sure the color etc. is good. These prints then get the designation of Artist Proof. Therefore a print that says 14/99AP means there were 99 Artist Proofs printed and 990 total prints of that particular picture. The remarques are an original ink drawing by the artist on the print. Jerry sold his first wildlife paintings when he was 11. After early experiences with fine arts in Minnesota, Raedeke relocated to Los Angeles where he developed a facination wih watercolors while studying with Chinese American painter Jake Lee. All the while he pursued field research which has now taken him to 38 states, six provinces of Canada and 19 other nations. He also held a career as a minister. Excitement for Jerry's work has become intense and sweeping. His art has been shown at nearly all major wildlife exhibitions in the country. He has been given recognition as Artist of the Year by the prestigious Southeastern Wildlife Art Show at Kansas City and by the Wildlife Heritge Show at Minnepolis. The Eastern Waterfowl Festival has given him 20 year exhibition medalion. Raedeke was selected from a national serch for inclusion in the National Wildlife Federation Show at Washington DC. While he was at the capitol the was permitted a one man show for members of Congress in the rotunda. Raedeke has painted state duck stamps for Georgia, Iowa, and Kansas. He has been given Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year recognition in Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesots, Ohio and Oklahoma. Wildlife mugs with his design have appeared regularly on TV's Northern Exposure and in several movies. Anheuser - Busch recently comissioned Raedeke to paint the world famous Budweiser Clydesdales in a wildlife setting. Jerry Raedeke was featured nationally in a specialy produced documentary for public television and in the Prairie Sportsman series on Minnesota Public Television. The Sportsmans Friend filmed the artist painting on a remote marsh in Canada. As an artist and conservationist, Raedeke has donated over 63,000 prints and 131 original paintings which have generated over 5 Million dollars for wetland restortion projects. We hope you enjoy the beautiful artwork featured in this One Of A Kind Auction!
