The family is originally from Livingston County, south of Joliet, where their German ancestors settled in the 1840s. They did not throw much out!   • Civil War archive of Pvt. James H. Cromwell of the 129th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment, who died of disease on 26 February, 1863, in northern Tennessee. Included is a condolence letter from a friend to James' wife, widow's pension records, enlistment record, and history of the 129th Illinois published in 1866
  • Civil War era private purchase trunk named to James H. Cromwell
  • 1850 published Bible named to James H. Cromwell with 1863 newspaper clipping announcing his death attached to the inside cover. The newspaper clipping includes an excerpt from the casualty notification letter sent to his widow, which is also for sale
  • Civil War stationary paper with Abraham Lincoln image 
  • Collection of 1870s militia items from Brewster S Rearick. He was the drummer boy for the "Dwight Guards", a militia company that existed in Dwight, Illinois, from 1874 to 1877. This unit later became the Parsons Guard and eventually became apart of the 129th Infantry Regiment, Illinois National Guard. Items included in the collection are photos of Brewster with his drum, a group photo of the Dwight Guards, a model 1872 dress shako with "DG" letters for Dwight Guards, part of a military drum, and a few other odds and ends. Originally we thought this veteran served in the Indian Wars. This was before we received more information from our client
  • Collection of WWII Navy Seabees memorabilia, all from the same sailor: uniforms, letters, postcards, records, unit yearbooks, pins, photos, eg. He was stationed in the Aleutian Islands and Admiralty Islands
