Welcome to the University of Michigan Vehicle Auction.

We know you are anxious to begin bidding, however it is critical that you fully understand and agree to the following terms and conditions of this online only auction.  By participating in this auction, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Disclaimer: All lots sell as is, where is, with all faults. Braun and Helmer Auction Company and the seller do not give or make any type of guarantee or warranty regarding the lots to be sold, implied or otherwise. All vehicles are being sold as running unless otherwise stated in the listing.

Braun and Helmer Auction Company has attempted to provide accurate descriptions of all items, however, it is your exclusive responsibility as a bidder to determine the condition and suitability of each lot. Printed statements, descriptions and counts by Braun and Helmer Auction Company staff are provided in good faith and are matters of opinion.  

Vehicles are in running order unless noted in the description. The pictures and descriptions provide information on the condition. It is not the policy of Braun and Helmer to hide any issues or problems with the vehicles. If most cases we can provide additional pictures or information up to 24 hours prior to auction day.

The bidding increments for this auction will be $250.00.

Buyer's Premium: A buyers' premium of 7% of the high bid will be added to the high bid to determine the final selling price for the auction lot.  

The Michigan State sales tax (6%) will be paid at the Secretary of State.

Payment: We will accept cash or check at pick up. (Checks made to Braun and Helmer Auction Service.)  Braun and Helmer Auction Company accepts the following forms of payment: Cash, Cashier’s Check, Personal or Company Checks. No checks outside of the state of Michigan are accepted (unless approved). 

1st time bidders who plan on spending more than $20,000 must be approved. (Call David @ 734.368.1733)

If you are paying by cash or certified check you will be given the title at pick up. If you pay by check we will mail the title by certified mail after 10 days. Additionally we will be glad to arrange face to face pick up after the 10 days.

Merchandise becomes the full responsibility of the buyer at time of payment and the buyer assumes all risk of loss and damage to property at that time.  Braun and Helmer Auction Company reserves the right to resell any property not paid for in full by the conclusion of the stated pickup period. In any such event, the Buyer will still be responsible for payment for the original purchase and the costs of collection of this payment and/or damages resulting from the resale of the property.  

Inspection Dates & Time:

DUE TO THE RESTRICTIONS PLACED BY THE STATE OF MICHIGAN AMID COVID-19, WE WILL NOT BE CONDUCTING ANY IN PERSON PREVIEW FOR ANY ITEM IN THE AUCTION.

AUCTION BEGINS 9 AM Thursday August 20th, 2020

AUCTION ENDS: 7 PM Thursday August 27th, 2020

MERCHANDISE PICK UP: Friday-Saturday August 28-29 from 9 AM-2 PM. 

CRITICALLY IMPORTANT!  

 You will be provided the location of your purchase once you have won. Most items are in one place, however some of the equipment is at different lotions.                                    

PICK UP LOCATION: Not currently available – will be notified once you are a winner. (Ann Arbor, MI)

Pickup:  All items, must be picked up on the published move out date(s).  Buyers are responsible for rigging, loading, and moving all items purchased without assistance from Braun and Helmer Auction Company. 

**Very important: With exception of previous arrangements with Braun and Helmer Auction Company, you MUST pick up your items on the specified date(s). If your items are not picked up within 10 days Braun and Helmer Auction Company reserves the right to forfeit your items.

Auction Ending:  Beginning at the stated closing time, the auction software will conclude bidding for one lot each thirty seconds in catalog order with the following exception: if a bid is placed in the last three (3) minutes remaining for that auction lot, bidding for that lot will remain open for an additional three minutes. Some lots may be grouped together so that a bid on one lot will extend the time on all lots in that group.

Debt Collection and Interest Charges:  The buyer agrees to pay all reasonable attorney fees and other costs incurred by Braun and Helmer Auction Company in its efforts to collect unpaid funds from the buyer. The buyer agrees that a fee of 10% of the outstanding balance per month be added to any unpaid balance due Braun and Helmer Auction Company. Any debt collection or dispute proceedings will be heard in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Limitation of Liability If, for any reason, Braun and Helmer Auction Company is unable to make available or deliver any Purchase, or portion thereof, or documentation required in respect of any Purchase, the sole liability of Braun and Helmer Auction Company, if any, shall be the return of monies paid in respect of such Purchase upon its return by Purchaser.  

Non Paying:  In addition to the above, understand that we are working for our seller.  We have zero tolerance for non-paying bidders and we will proceed aggressively to rectify such situations.

Age Requirement All bidders must be 18 years of age or older.  

Bidder Information and Security: All registration information the bidder provides to Braun and Helmer Auction Company shall be current, complete, and accurate. All bidders are responsible for any bids placed under their bidding numbers and passwords. The security of bidder information is the responsibility of the bidder. Bidders must notify Braun and Helmer Auction Company if they believe that their bidder number and password have been compromised.

Tips on bidding

Bidding is done competitively through the auction software. For example if you leave a 10,000 bid and the current price is only 4,000, you will be leading at 4,250. As other bidders participate the bid will go up to your maximum bid.

If you want to be assured of being the high bidder we recommend bidding as soon as possible. There is a large amount of interest in this auction. Often bidders wait to the end, not realizing that for example 40 other bidders are bidding on the same item at the same time!

At a minimum, we recommend leaving a conservative bid as a placeholder. That gives you a chance to become familiar with the bidding process and assures your bid.

We recommend that you bid early and become familiar with the software.  Not everyone has high speed internet and it make take longer for you to place your bids. Something to consider is that at the end of the auction, there may be as many as 40 people bidding the same amount at virtually the same time. Because of this we do not guarantee that your bids will be executed to your satisfaction.
