Listing Information

T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings
1905 - 1976

T. H. (Terence Harold) Robsjohn-Gibbings was trained as an architect and designer. Born in London in 1905, he was already well known in Europe for his contemporary furniture and interiors before he came to the United States in 1929.
He apprenticed as an architectural draughtsman in London, followed by the study of architecture at the University of Liverpool and London University. He then held positions in various artistic fields in England prior to 1929.
In New York he established Robsjohn-Gibbings Limited interior design firm, which he ran from 1936—1964. He was the sole designer for Widdicomb Furniture Co. from 1943—1956.
Robsjohn-Gibbings’ most popular invention is the louvre drawer, which has been imitated wherever modern furniture is manufactured. Other innovations originated by Robsjohn-Gibbings include the strapped chair, the low standing lamp, and the glass top cocktail table.

Some of the Hi- End Furniture featured at this sale is by Terence Harold Robsjohn- Gibbings for Widdicomb circa 1950.  There are a Pair of Walnut Slipper Chairs w/Brass Legs, (2) End Tables & an Accent Table complete with the T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings label, Mid-Century Lamps (could also be attributed to T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings, a Retro Mahogany Bedroom Set & a lot of Vintage Furniture Accent Pieces 

There is a Tool Room packed with Power Tools, Hand Tools & Hardware, a large lot of Hi-End Vintage Cameras, Lenses & other Camera Parts & Supplies, an Antique Paper Map dated 1768 of the Northern Colonies, Record LP's (mostly Hawaiian) & some 45's, Books, a large lot of Guitar Parts, Laboratory  Equipment, Deep Sea Diving Gear & Equipment, Vintage Dinnerware Sets, lots of Kitchen & Household Bric-a-Brac, some Liquor (some Rare), some Vintage Men's & Women's Clothing, Shoes & Accessories, some Costume Jewelry, some Vintage Luggage.........Vintage Beach Chairs (in great condition), Garage is full of interesting Miscellaneous Items.......Way Too Much To List!!!!!!
