Done Deal Estate Sales and Appraisals will be in the Forest Hills area of Tampa this weekend.

 

The Joost family is a long time Tampa family.  Horst Joost and his wife Cynthia, were residents of Tampa for over 50 years.

 

In 1968, Horst retired from the US Army as a full colonel with 31 years of service. He fought in over three military conflicts and earned more than a dozen medals.  After his military retirement, he enrolled at USF as an undergraduate. He graduated from USF in 1970 and started a second career as a art professor in art education at USF.  He ended his career at USF with another master degree in library science.  After his second retirement, he opened a book store called the Book Shack. 

 

Horst Joost was a bibliophile, with a private collection in his home of over 10,000 books.  His collection includes books on American Western Expansion, National Geographic, Old Pulp Magazines, Western Americana and World War Aviation Volumes.  There is also a collection of Science Fiction books.  All of these collections will be available at this sale.

 

In addition, Eric Joost, Horst and Cynthia's son, who retired as a professor of anthropology from Hillsborough Community College, has included much of his work in this sale.  

 

The Joost family has included in this sale a collection of art from " Frank Rampolla. "    Frank Rampolla (1931-1971) was a Florida-based figurative expressionist artist and professor, who lived in Sarasota and Tampa during the 1960s. He taught at Ringling College of Art and Design and the University of South Florida.

 

As you can see, there is plenty to see at this estate sale.  You don't want to miss this sale.
