Charles J. Rivers Biography Charles J. Rivers, or Charlie as he was known, had one enduring love in his lifetime – cars! He bought them, but rarely sold them. He collected them, but rarely showed them or drove them. He loved them all, but primarily 1950s and 1960s Fords, Lincolns and Mercuries. He was President of the Ford Mercury Restorers Club of America many times. He had a radio show on WJR where he was called Mr. Ford/Lincoln/Mercury. In 2017, he was featured on an episode of Detroit Steel on the History Channel. At the pinnacle of his car madness, he owned over 100 cars. When he passed away in July 2019, he owned fewer cars but still had thousands of classic car parts.
