Maximum Bid: Using the "maximum bid" feature can be a real time and stress saver .
Sniping: Due to rounding and the imprecision of minutes left, do not wait until the last minute to bid. Sniping doesn't work with the "soft close" system;. Give yourself a cushion of time to make sure that you don't lose the items.
