SALE UPDATE WED. DEC. 5TH 2018: Looks like chilly weather for saturday but it is warm inside sale. Please read terms and conditions below. There are many nice items and some that have not been pictured. Buyers can make offers at anytime during the sale but lower offers are more likely to be accepted later, rather than earlier, in the day. Hours for removal of larger items from home have been extended and include 11:00AM to to 4:00PM on Sunday Dec. 6th (anytime);  and on Monday Dec. 7th (by appointment only). To contact sellers on Saturday while sale is in progress call: 304-916-2764 or 304-488-9863.

Selling the "Living Estate" (furnishings and personal property) of Gloria Davis, well known resident of Pleasants & Wood counties who is relocating due to considerations of health and mobility. This sale consists of valuable furnishings from antique, mid-century, and contemporary categories as well as collectibles, functional household items, and tasteful (expensive) home decoration pieces. Some of the items in this sale were purchased from the famous Historical Wells Inn when the hotel and contents were sold by Appalachian Auction Co. back in 1994 exactly 100 years after it first opened in 1894.

REAL ESTATE

Home is also for sale. 3 bdrm. 2 full baths, finished "walk out" basement with huge laundry, utility, & storage room, eat-in-kitchen opens onto deck, plus double car garage & driveway. Ample yard with storage building. See pictures in photo gallery. Sales agent will be available during tag sale to answer questions and schedule individual showings of real estate.

Terms and conditions of "Tag Sale".

Most all of the items in the home will be marked with a sale price and may be purchased on a "first come first served" basis. Buyers may make offers (bids) at any time during the sale, but offers are more likely to be accepted from late morning to sales end. Payment for items will be made to the cashier in cash or by check with good ID. Small items may be brought to cashier's desk for payment. For larger items, contact a staff member who will remove the sale tag and take it to the cashier with the name of the purchaser. Buyers should not remove any tags from any items. For any items not tagged, the sales agent will provide a price. On occasion we have had two buyers simultaneously approach staff with both wanting to buy the same item. In that event our auctioneer will be available to take bids from those interested until a selling price is reached. Buyers may take smaller items with them following purchase. Larger (furniture) items need to be removed after 1:00 to avoid conflict with unsold items and other buyers. Buyers are responsible for removal of their own items. Buyers are responsible for any damage to walls or woodwork that occurs during the removal of their items. Items can be removed from the garage anytime after payment. All purchases must be removed on day of sale or on following day between 11:30 and 4:00 PM unless other arrangements are made with sales agents. All items are sold "as is where is". Announcements day of sale take precedence over previous printed or stated information. Descriptions and information on sale items are provided to the best of seller's knowledge, but are not warranted or guarenteed to be accurate.

Additional courtesies and conditions of sale: Traditionally with estate tag sales, there are those who want to come early to be sure of getting certain items. This has sometimes resulted in long lines and people waiting for up to an hour in line. To avoid this we have staff there early to issue number cards to buyers in the order they show -up. They can then wait in their vehicle, go get breakfast, or even find a chair in the garage until 5 minutes prior to sale time when we line up at the door in order of numbers. If however, you are not present with your number when the doors open, then you have to take the next available number. We have had, on occasion, to limit the number of people who go in initially if there are too many inside to get from one item to the next. In such cases we send more in as more leave. This seldom lasts (if at all) past the first 1/2 hour of the sale. Then we abandon the numbers and people come and go at their leisure for the rest of the day.

Absentee bids are welcomed (Phone or internet) but will be activated 1 hour after the sale begins to give preferance to those who "turn-out" for the sale. To place a bid on any item call 304-684-3793 or e-mail: jimbuck90@hotmail.com. If you get the answering machine leave you name and phone number clearly and we will return your call. If you wish to call in a bid while the sale is in progress, call 304-916-2764.

SALE AGENTS: M. Kay Buck - USPAP certified personal property appraiser; and R. James Buck - USPAP certified personal property appraiser, licensed auctioneer WV #271, & Licensed R.E. sales agent - Riggs Realty LLC.
