This is a large estate sale of mostly art, in the Curtis Street Church building, 2119 Curtis St. in Downtown Denver. This includes: The estate of Don Allen (1909-1993), a founding member of FIFTEEN COLORADO ARTISTS in the 1940s, and the estate and collection of Donald Bear (1905-1952), formerly the director of the Denver Art Museum. Also the complete estate of Denver painter and teacher Oksana Ross (b. 1920). Oksana came to the US in the 1940s, studied at Columbia and Art Students League, and with Hans Hofmann, Will Barnett, and Alexander Archipenko, then taught at the Pratt Institute before opening a studio in Denver in the 1950s. She taught at Colorado Women's College and exhibited widely. With dozens of her own paintings and prints, including 20th Century prints and 19th century paintings. Dozens of oils and watercolors by artists of the 1930s/40s/50s, original prints in all subjects, hundreds more unframed drawings, prints, watercolors, and work by contemporary Colorado artists who were taught by Oksana.
