Built 1910 by the Schrath family. Manager of Phoenix Mill which became Globe Mill. They had no children so left it to their niece who left it to her son Fred Beauchamp. It was purchased out of his estate. Fred was a prominent pharmacist. House designed by noted architect Rudolph Herold (he did City Hall, the Library and Courts building, the McClatchy library to name a few) and cost a whopping $36,000 to build in 1910. It was pretty much untouched and unmolested until we rehabbed and remodeled it in 1992. Most of the fixtures in the front of the house and on the second floor are original, as is the woodwork. The ice box in the dining room was originally built into the wall between the now gone (it is part of the first floor back hall) pantry and the back porch.
