SALE # 1

RARE DANISH MODERN FURNITURE!

THE SECOND SALE WHICH I WILL BE LISTING HERE ON PAGE 1 HAS SOME DANISH MODERN FURNITURE AND COLLECTIBLES STRAIGHT FROM GERMANY!

The important pieces in this sale (sale #1) are the DANISH MODERN dining room set, credenza, and the sideboard with floating hutch made by POVL DINESEN. (Also the German made Stillschrank but I'll get to that in a bit)...I was told by my clients son that his grandfather was in the service in the 50's and 60's and that his grandmother purchased what she felt was the finest furniture she could buy and then had it shipped back to the states upon their return.  Upon my research I found a question &  answer forum in which POVL DINESEN'S son responded to an inquiry about his father's work. This is what I found:
"Hi. I'm the son of Povl Dinesen...
I can see, that you are interested in Povl Dinesen. He was my father, and I can tell you a bit about him. He was a cabinet maker in Copenhagen from about 1945 and designed a few things, cabinets and tables...In his best years Povl Dinesen had about 20 employees at the factory and he had a big furniture shop in Copenhagen where he, beside his own works, also sold other danish designer's furnitures from about 1955.
Actually he sold furnitures to the american officers in Germany in the fifties and sixties, in the sixties he had a shop in Wiesbaden...
Best regards
Palle Dinesen, Denmark." (This info was found on Design Addict.com)

Based on this information and the receipts I believe that the  dining room set and the sideboard with the floating hutch were actually made by Povl Dinesen and was purchased August 1, 1967. The dining room table is marked "Povl Dinesen Denmark Original Modern Furniture". The cool part is I have ALL the original receipts with the date purchased, amount paid, and the actual signature of Povl Dinesen!

The credenza is marked "ACO Mobler Made In Denmark. I believe this piece to be made by Axel Christensen and was sold through Povel Dinesen's furniture shop in Copenhagen.

I consider these rare, unique, and INVESTMENT PIECES and as such their value can only go up over the years! Complete with Receipt documentation!

Be sure to check out these exceptional pieces if this is something you would love to own (and who wouldn't?)

OK ON TO OTHER ITEMS IN SALE #1:
