THE GREAT MID-CENTURY & SPORTS MEMORABILIA ONLINE AUCTION is all the name implies, plus so much more. These things were the lifetime accumulation of a WWII veteran, his wife, and their son. The WWII vet was a C-47 pilot, flying dozens of missions over the China-Burma-India "Hump" from 1942-'45, resupplying the Chinese who had been cut off after the invading Japanese closed the Burma Road. The "Hump" was the Himalayas, the tallest mountains on earth; too tall for the C-47s. They had to zigzag 450 miles through mountain passes and valleys to reach their destination. The weather was always bad. Many did not make it. The pilot was a member of the CBI Hump Pilots Association until the association disbanded in 2005 due to the advancing age of its dwindling members. After the war the pilot spent his career as a corporate passenger jet pilot. He, his wife, and their son, were avid sports enthusiasts and Clemson Tiger fans. Their things serve as evidence of fully lived and engaged lives. Bidding starts at $1.00. No Reserves, EVER! It's FUN! THE GREAT MID-CENTURY & SPORTS MEMORABILIA ONLINE AUCTION Shoppers will find:
