We recently had a tag sale at our home in Dix Hills by SISTERS IN CHARGE. Denise, the owner along with Lina, Bobby, Joe and Maritza her dedicated staff, ran the two day sale. They took charge from the minute they stepped foot inside my home until the sale was over. My husband and I did not have to do a thing. They were professional, honest, neat and personable. They tried to get us the most money possible and clear out the house. I would highly recommend this company if you are planning to do a tag sale.

We contacted them prior to selling our house to arrange a sale of our furnishings and personal effects. We sold our house with furniture, fixtures , art work and a wide array of our property and personal effects. We still had silver, china and a lifetime of other stuff. From setting the date to final cleanup this company has been wonderful to work with! We were late to set a date for our Estate Sale and Denise agreed to work us into an already busy weekend. Denise and her crew are very professional from start to finish. They came into our home and treated our belongings with care and respect. What this crew did in a matter of days was amazing. This is hard, labor intensive work and these people work hard!! I cannot thank Denise and the crew at the Estate Sale enough. They made an overwhelming job seem easy!
After the Estate Sale, Denise’s son has a company who will come in and do any job that needs to be done. We hired them to remove all leftover items. Talk about efficient and fast! We didn’t have to lift a finger; they literally removed everything we asked for. Next they have a reference for any cleaning needs. We requested a deep clean, again on short notice, and our home hasn’t looked this sparkly since the day we moved in 60 years ago.

Dear Denise and all your workers over the years,
This is just a thank you for always treating my friend Linda so kindly and respectfully for so many years. We had been coming to your sales for a very long time and as her health got worse and worse you would always ask how she was and even sometimes go out to the car and say hello to her. Getting out of the house to sales was one of the few things left that Linda loved to do and you all helped make it enjoyable for her and for that we are deeply grateful. Linda passed away a few days before Christmas peacefully in her home but I wanted you to know how much your attitude and kindness meant to her.

I’ve been meaning to write to let you know how amazing your team was for my estate sale.
I know that you couldn’t be there the day of my sale, but you definitely gave me your very best team, so thank-you, thank-you! Right from the start all of your team members introduced themselves and were very professional, kind and sensitive about the items I was selling. They worked endlessly all day both during the day of the set up and the day of the sale, tagging, merchandising items into each of their own categories and sub categories The day of the sale, my home was set up like a mini department store. I have been in the fashion business for over 18 years and know good merchandising when I see it. I know how hard it is to put many miscellaneous items together to tell a story and It looked beautiful. I honestly thought I could have done it on my own, but I would never have been able to do close to what your team did. I know that my items sold better than I expected because of the creative and clean merchandising.
Everyone worked together as a team and were all very honest… Lina even gave me some loose change she found in some of my handbags
I felt comfortable during the set up leaving your team in my home while I ran out to run some errands. Bobby, Lina, Joe, Maritza, Cathy, Tommy & Reesha were all so great! They were hardworking (didn’t even take a lunch break), very neat and kept things clean.
I do want to call out Bobby in particular. I cannot say enough good things about him!!! From the minute I met him, I felt very comfortable, almost like I’ve known him forever. He was really personable, extremely hardworking and so dedicated to his work. He kept in contact with me on the day of the sale and updated me on some of my larger, more expensive items which made me feel even more at ease.
I think he single handedly sold my entire kitchen (cabinets and all)!! When I said that I wouldn’t be able to take the kitchen cabinets apart, he promised that he would come back and meet the buyer to make sure all was okay and that I was comfortable.
He was a man of his word. Over one month after the sale, as promised… Bobby came to my house, met the buyer of the kitchen and helped remove everything carefully while keeping my house clean. I am still living here for another 5 days before the renovation begins, so I really appreciated it J! Bobby even came back the day after the sale to hand deliver the key to my garage that I had given him and a rolling rack that was taken by accident. He is such an asset to your team!
I would definitely recommend Sisters in Charge to anyone interested in doing an estate sale! You guys were great!

You could not ask for better help to get you through the trying time of an estate sale than Denise and her team at Sisters in Charge. She was responsive, professional and knowledgeable in the tasks necessary to carry out a sale made more complicated by our residing out of state. In the short time we worked together in the prep for the sale and the sale itself, the team became more like family than a business. The once-in-a-lifetime situation of closing the house you grew up in is not an easy task. After researched a few NY estate sale companies, I chose “Sisters in Charge” based on repeated recommendations and their long track record in the business. And I’m glad I did!
From the first meeting with Denise, I immediately warmed to her combination of wisdom, business savvy, sense of humor, and empathy to the emotional aspect of having to do an estate sale. She immediately got down to business and was extremely helpful in every way. And lastly, she listened— to my concerns, requests, and questions— regarding various aspects of the sale. Her office staff also communicated frequently and efficiently in the pre-sale planning stage.
Her “Sisters” team was stellar— hard working, good-spirited and during the “set-up day”, bravely delved into those nooks and crannies of the house that had been long forgotten for years. It was astonishing to see how they organized and beautifully displayed the myriad accumulation of “stuff’ that was in the house for nearly 50 years.
The resulting sale was a success. Due to emotional concerns, I chose not to be present until the sale was over, and decided to instead let “Sisters In Charge” do their thing. And “in charge” they were— they ran an organized, very well attended sale— undaunted by the frenzy of shoppers.
Denise was dependable, trust-worthy and even after an exhaustive day, maintained her poise and sense of humor as we were finalizing the sale totals. So, I’ll say: Thanks “Sisters in Charge”!

After my father’s death last spring, my family and I were faced with the daunting task of clearing out the house my parents had lived in for 61 years. It was important to us that beautiful or serviceable items that we didn’t want or couldn’t use would go to someone who would appreciate them. We decided our best approach would be to have an estate sale. However, after a few weeks of sorting through closets and drawers, it became apparent that we needed someone who could set up and manage such an ambitious project.
I researched local estate sale companies and spoke with several; but none of them felt quite right. Then a friend of a friend recommended Sisters in Charge.
I was impressed starting with my first call. I spoke with Gina, who gave me an overview of their services and pricing. Then Denise came to the house to determine the best direction to take. She took pictures of items, asked insightful questions, and did not make me feel that I was being forced to make any decisions before I was ready. Her kindness and her professionalism convinced me on the spot that I wanted to work with her.
The Sisters in Charge team scheduled, planned and executed our estate sale. They let me know what to expect every step of the way. They checked up with me on the days preceding the set up and sale to ask if I had any questions or concerns. On the days they were due at the house, they came on time. They advertised on their website and in local print and electronic media and social media; determined fair market pricing of our items; created order out of chaos, setting the house up so it looked like an antiques store; and they efficiently manned the sale.
We were very pleased with the results. Sales exceeded expectations; and Denise even recommended a thrift shop vendor to me who bought additional items directly from me that hadn’t been sold during the estate sale.
I would highly recommend Sisters in Charge to anyone who needs help with an estate sale. Denise is very knowledgeable and an excellent manager; her team is efficient, friendly and helpful. Her pricing is fair, especially considering the amount of pre-sale research and set up that they do. I will definitely use Sisters in Charge again if I ever have to host another clearing out sale.

I don’t know where to even begin to express my gratitude to you and to your outstanding staff at Sisters In Charge!
Before you stepped foot into my home of 25 years, I was walking around in circles trying to figure out where to begin sorting through my belongings. To say I was dreading the entire process is a massive understatement.
Your instructions after we discussed the logistics immediately set my mind at ease. “Open a drawer, remove what you want and then just close the drawer. Same thing in the closets, leave everything where it is. Just take out the things you want. We will handle the rest.” I followed your instructions, admittedly, with a bit of skepticism. When I was finished, the entire house was in a complete state of disarray, until....
You arrived with your staff on “set up” day and I simply could not believe how they transformed the mess I left you. The level of professionalism was above and beyond my wildest expectations. I watched as your staff of five people set off in different directions, each of them following the instructions you dispensed with such efficiency, I felt my stress melting away by the second.
I walked through the house, room by room, guided by one of them, to confirm what would be staying. They treated my belongings like treasures, double and triple checking with me if they came across something that looked like it might have been something I missed when I was packing the items I would be keeping.
I was in and out the entire day they were setting up for the sale. In between running errands, I was back at the house to finish boxing up the last of my things. When I returned for the last time on “set up” day, I could not believe what they managed to accomplish despite the chaos they walked in to early that morning. Every room was organized, all items clearly marked and despite the massive number of items being sold in addition to the furniture, there was no clutter! Even the outdoor items were neatly lined up away from the pool, forming a makeshift path to exit the yard using just one of the gates to ensure no one was near the pool.
The day of the sale, I unexpectedly found myself traveling to California for a funeral. I let you know the day before when I made my arrangements and thankfully, I had already given you a key to lock up on set up day. The sale went beautifully. One of my friends told her neighbors and they were at the sale. She was told, “I never saw anything like it! There was a line at the door, they were very organized only letting in a few people at the time. They have a tremendous following!” Based upon the end result, I have to agree! I received a very generous price for the items that were sold.
When I returned from California, I went back to the house to see what was unsold to decide if there was anything I might want to consider keeping. I already had a price from your office to finish the clean out. This add on service from Relocaters proved to be invaluable to me. There were small items and some larger pieces of furniture. I think I picked up three small items to put with the things I would be taking and your team returned a day later to clear out everything for the new owner. When I went into the house to collect the things I would be taking from one area in the garage that you had taped off, the house was immaculate, dozens of bags of trash were removed and the house was ready for the new owners! Every closet, every drawer, every cabinet was empty. The floors were swept. In short, I didn’t have to do a thing except pick up the donation receipt for everything that was brought to Big Brothers Big Sisters!
It was an absolute delight to work with you and with your staff. Every single person was pleasant and cheerful and most importantly, respectful of my home throughout the entire process from set up to sale to clean up.
Despite that bit of wondering….. what would I still have to do when you told me “just take what you want and we will take care of the rest” you did exactly what you promised. Basically, you did EVERYTHING and I could not be happier!!Being tasked to clean out the house as a newly single woman, while also being responsible for the safekeeping of decades of personal items belonging to my entire family was daunting.
That was.....until you came along and did it all for me. I am forever grateful to you for carrying me through a very difficult situation, and literally, handling every aspect of getting my house ready for the new owners.
I have not stopped singing your praises to anyone and everyone who asks how everything went with the sale of my house. Your services are fabulous, your staff is outstanding and you, Denise, are an absolute life saver. Thank you SO very much!

She and her crew absolutely exceeded our expectations. I don't live in New York and I will never need to use her services again but I would highly recommend her to anyone who does. After the sale I would also highly recommend using the clean out service owned by her son. I have been going to Sisters In Charge Estate Sales for the past 7-8 years now and I WILL keep on going. Sisters not only does right by their clients but also their customers. They find that happy median. In my experience other companies are very "stuffy" and unfriendly. This is not the case with Sisters. I always feel warm and welcome at their sales, like I'm extended family. The quality of sales that they host is also top notch with great prices. Since I was but a toddler I always enjoyed treasure hunting at sales. I consider myself experienced in the field and have yet to go to a professional sale like one hosted by the Sisters. Their selection of interesting items, good prices and experienced, friendly & personal staff is one-of-a-kind. Sisters have made me a lifelong follower and I will recommend them to ANY shopper and potential client.

Thank you for the great job you all did this past fall with regard to my elderly mother’s home. You were all great to work with and the process went off without a hitch. We will take this opportunity to recap the steps – it could not have gone more smoothly.
We made contact with Sisters In Charge shortly after Mother passed away in mid-August. Because we live in Texas, travel extensively and Mother’s home was on Long Island, we were on a very tight timeframe as we were scheduled to close on the sale of the house the same day as the cleanout. We were able to work with you all to pick the exact day and Robert’s crew arrived half an hour earlier than expected at 7:30 AM because they knew of the urgency in getting it all done. The crew of six removed all of Mother’s remaining possessions, donated whatever was of value and disposed of the rest. They completed the job at about 4:30PM and the cleanup of the interior, attic, basement and garage resulted in the closing taking place as scheduled and the property in perfect condition for the handoff. The entire process exceeded our expectations.
All three of you worked with us extremely well to handle payment and administrative matters, for which we are very grateful during this stressful time. So please take this as the strongest possible recommendation from us as an extremely satisfied customer. It is a pleasure to work with a company that does what they said they would do, pleasantly, efficiently and professionally.

Michael and I would like to thank the entire staff at Sisters In Charge. The set up crew really did transform our home into a department store and Bobby and the gang the day of the sale were terrific. On several occasions they came to me with gift cards and collectible coins our children had left behind. Bobby was even able to start a UHaul that had broken down in our driveway and get it out of the way. The sale was a success due to their hard work.
We hired Sisters In Charge Relocators to clean out our house after the sale and Christian and his crew did such an amazing job that I almost don't have to have my cleaning lady come in. They truly got rid of everything, from drapes to an armoire .

Me & my wife have been going to her sales for about 7 years now and I have to say that I feel she is about the best out there, her prices seem always fair to us and she treats all of her customers with the same amount of respect and fairness no favorites like I have seen at other estate sale companies.
